Emax E-Volution – The Greener the Better

If investing in ‘little’ luxurious indulgences like cruise yachts is your favourite pastime, then we guarantee that the newly designed Emax E-Volution fits your taste. Introduced at the Monaco Yacht Show in Monte Carlo, the Emax E-Volution is designed by Sauter Offset Carbon Design to maximize the use of clean energy sources like wind, solar, and wave power. With the help of these natural energy combinations, the solar hybrid schooner can reach a cruising speed of 14 knots and captain a top speed of 28 knots.

The “Fastest and Greenest Superyacht” manufacturer has partnered with Ned Ship Group of Switzerland to visibly introduce the boat into the real world at a whopping price of $40 million.

The 66 meter Emax E-Volution functions on the following natural energy sources:

  • 2MWs of Renewable Energy supplied by Wind, Sun, Waves, and Currents
  • 2MWs of ZF Hybrid Power supplied by MTU 2000 Series Tier 4i engines, the cleanest marine diesel on the market
  • An additional 3MWs of energy harnessed from sustainable sources that are stored and employed as ballast in a Lithium UPS.
  • ZF 4000 azimuth Pods with Solar Powered Bow Thruster to propel the boat

Further highlights of the yacht include a PV Exoskeleton solar array which generates up to 300MWs of Solar Energy per year, enough to power all the hotel services plus proffer 4,000nm of Carbon Neutral Cruising at 22 knots.

The Emax E-Volution attributes its environmentally friendly luxury to Ocean LED lighting and certified energy star equipped air conditioning. Also, onboard refrigeration takes care of waste heat recovery.

Sure shot stress busters, like a rear sun deck and pool area, beach club, dining area with full-service bar, outdoor cinema, music library facility, and Wi-Fi connectivity are incorporated in the yacht. Cinema buffs are specially taken into consideration in designing the top deck of the yacht that is home to an outdoor cinema with an extendable Photovoltaic Canopy and retractable Giant Flat-screen for open-air viewing.

One thing is for sure, owners of this yacht will surely not suffer any pangs of guilt arising from maligning the CO2 levels in the atmosphere.
