The SINOPACIFIC Shipbuilding group has its first self – designed and enhanced AHTS offshore support vessel (OSV), namely the SPA 80 Diesel Electric DPII 80mt AHTS. The delivery of SPA hails the transition for Sinopacific from a joined to an independent designer.
The designs for the OSV’s were monopolized by American, Singaporean and European companies in the past. Sinopacific has now gained proficiency in all areas of design, including front-end concept design and basic design to the back-end detailed design and production design. This has enabled the company to respond faster to the customer’s requirements and increased its performance in overall planning factors.
The SPA 80 was designed by SDA, a design company by Sinopacific. Compared to the designs by foreign companies it is much more advanced in safety, environmental friendliness, reliability, operational efficiency, maneuverability and has already reached a world class status.
The SPA 80 retains the strong points of the foreign designs. However the inclusion of several innovative edges such as a unique hull design, adjusted hull structure, optimized hull structure makes it a far more satisfactory performer in areas of fuel efficiency and environmental awareness.
A double protection fuel hull tank protects against pollution caused by accidents. It also has the self recovering oil slicks on the sea and is certified with the Oil Recovery Ship certificate. It has also acquired the BV Clean Ship Certificate to meet its stringent standards for environmental friendliness in the future.
SPA 80 has already claimed the attention, admiration and trust of the customers. Sinopacific has already received 20 orders for SPA 80.
The EU counter piracy operation will last till the end of the year 2014. The EU has decided to widen the scope of its naval operation in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean. This will be done by extending the area of the naval forces that will comprise of the Somali coastal territory. Such a measure will allow the EU to take strong action on the Somali coast.
