The concept of this in-water sailboat show was invented in Annapolis in the year 1970. For the last 47 years, Annapolis has been hosting the Fall Sailboat and Powerboat Show. Every year, early October, Chesapeake Bayside town of Annapolis, Maryland turns into the unofficial epicenter of readily available and affordable American sailboat shopping. This year more than 200 boats parked here waiting to draw the attention of the visitors and buyers from all over the world. The uniqueness of the United States Sailboat Show (unlike the Monaco Yacht Show and Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show) is, the show features a wide variety of sailboats so that one doesn’t necessarily need to be a billionaire to afford to buy a sailboat or yacht.

Even then following are a few must see yachts this year –

Gunboat 57 – As the name suggests she is only 57 feet long high-speed yacht. The huge comfortably stretched along the length, interior is in line with the super yachts. The living space is very spectacular too. Its striking lines, carbon fibre construction and high-performance potential are the salient features of this multi-million dollar catamaran. A new generation yacht can sail around very quickly.

Oyster 625 – A 62 feet long yacht and exactly like what one would imagine how an “offshore yacht” should be. Can be described as “live-aboard” world-cruiser. It features high-quality craftsmanship, a bright and airy main salon, and spacious owner’s suite. The 625 features Oyster’s signature deck layout which provides comfortable seating while the yacht is under way.

Jeanneau 58 – Designed by Vittorio Garroni, a fast, easy to handle, and stylish yacht. It is a bit smaller than this French builder’s highly successful 64-foot long “mini-superyacht,” sister ship. Has a contemporary interior where rich materials including leather accents, blond teak flooring, and stainless steel fixtures are used liberally.

Beneteau Oceanis Yacht 62 – Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design and the Italian stylist Pierrangelo Andreani collaborated to rethink what a 62-foot ocean cruiser can be and the result is this astounding yacht. She has large areas for lounging and swimming, a Euro-chic interior aesthetic, and even an outdoor galley. This can be said as the yacht of the 21st century.

Morris Yachts M36 – The M36 that is on display in Annapolis may not be the best but is an exquisite yacht. In fact, the Maine-based craftsmen at Morris Yachts have been building this highly successful “elegant daysailer” design for more than 10 years. It’s a gorgeous design that stands out tall.
