The new Z55 by Zeelander has similar sleek lines and elegance like its sibling Z44, but it is longer by 11 feet. This navy-blue sports cruiser is all set to make its debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival this month.
The exterior of this 55-footer yacht resembles some of the high-end Maine yachts, with a special touch of Zeelander design. The sloping stern, enclosed pilothouse, and slightly turned/curved bow are designed by Mulder Design, and the interior is designed by Sinot Design. Both firms have won many superyacht awards for their designs.
The design team of Zeelander Yachts is working very closely with the world-renowned designer Cor D. Rover to make sure that the every aspect of this unique yacht is perfect. The company claims, the number of man hours put into the design, development, and build of their yachts far exceed than that of any other yacht in its class.
The exact length of Z55 is 55 ft 7 inches (17 meters), waterline length is 2 ft (15.90 meters), the beam is 16 ft 4 inches (5 meters) and draft (approximately) is 4.5 inches (1.4 meters). She is powered with 2x Volvo Penta 800 hp or optional 2 x 900 hp engines. Z55 can cruise at 32 – 34 knots with Volvo Penta IPS 1050 or optional 36 – 38 knots with Volvo Penta IPS 1200 propulsion. With IPS 1200 and at the best economical speed of 28 knots she can cruise up to 400 Nm without refueling. GRP Core Infusion Vinylester Glass fiber is the material used for the hull.
Except for the technical specifications, each of Z55 is built and designed as per the owner specifications. The yacht which will be displayed at Cannes has a modern interior with a light-oak and gray finish. Whereas the first sold yacht to the U.S. client has more wood accents, as per demand was for more traditional look. The interior materials used are of very high-quality hand-stitched leathers and high-end woods and fabrics. The extra soundproofing and vibration-dampening materials are used to keep the Z55 whisper-quiet in the large saloon and two staterooms. Furthermore, Z55 has very narrow window frames with double curved glass, 10 large screens and a full opening aft glass wall that gives an exceptional view around. The 360° panoramic vision from the wheel house, is the unique feature in this class, not offered by others so far.
