The Wallycento 30.48 m Sailing Yacht Tango – A First Look

Wally, the world leader in yachting innovation, raised the Wallycento bar with the recent release of its newest box-ruled speed demon, Tango. Much like its sister sailing yachts Galateia (2015), Magic Carpet 3 (2013), and Open Season (2012) the sailing yacht Tango

has high-performance DNA. Luca Bassani, Wally President reiterated that the yacht was a further step forward in the evolution of the high-performance superyachts.

Tango is featured with an overall length of 30.48 m, a maximum beam of 7.20m, displacement of 49.95 t, and a sail area of 640 m2. To combine performance with style, the cruiser-racer project had a dream team including performance yacht designers, Mills Design for the naval architecture and exterior design, the Italian design house, Pininfarina for the interior and exterior design, and yacht building company, Persico Marine for the construction. The Monegasque brand reportedly worked for the first time on the visionary project with the three names. Bassani stated that to keep evolving new solutions, it was important to have inputs from leaders of different industries.

While Mills was reportedly brought on board because of their previous Wally assignments, Pininfarina created the interiors matching the aggressive soul of Tango blending it with comfort and elegance.

Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman of the Pininfarina Group attributed the selection of the materials and innovative solutions of the interior decoration in delivering both aesthetics and function and generating an ultra-light and super performing yacht that was ideal for cruising and racing.

Meanwhile, the Monaco based company, MYT that was familiar with the world of Wally superyachts was in charge of the management for the project, and the mast and boom were designed by Southern Spars.
