Are you a keelboat-racing lover? Then, England’s RS Sailboats, New RS21, which is aimed at bringing popularity back to keelboat racing, would definitely excite you. The brand new RS21 is simple, progressive, affordable, and with the evolved design, the boat looks promising enough to be the most exciting boat launch of 2018.
The brand new keelboat was launched recently at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in Germany. And, Jon Partridge, Managing Director (Sales), stated that there was something unbelievably special about the launching of the new boat. The boat is the result of an exhaustive development and has integrated direct feedback from program directors and new and experienced sailors.
The RS21 has high-quality features, with eco-friendly construction, and the hull built at Cowes on the Isle of Wight with the use of bio-derived resins and recycled core materials. The boat shows potential to be the future of sailing in every aspect.
The RS21, a 21 foot (6.34m (20’11”) keelboat) has a displacement of around 590kg (1300lbs). The key features are inclusive of the Beam 2.2m (7’3″), and Draft 1.38m (4’6″). The boat has a no-hiking rule. And, other statistics include two-part carbon fibre mast (for convenient storage and transport), one design and club sails specification options, retractable carbon composite bowsprit, optional symmetrical spinnaker, optional integrated, rechargeable & retractable electric sail-drive propulsion, integrated data logger and innovative, cost-efficient electronics option, and the cockpit appears straightforward, but foot braces have the potential to be tripping hazards.
All the attributes highlight that the boat is ideal for club-owned fleets, and has a splendid potential to help boost participation in sailing.
