Symphony of the Seas – A new concept

The Symphony of the Seas is a new introduction to the fleet of RCI ( Royal Caribbean International). The ship was built in over 3 years and is apt to the reputation of RCI’s onboard innovation.

The ship is in 4th of the Oasis class of ships with 1,188 feet in length and 215 feet wide. It weighs 228,081 gross registered tons (GRT) and has a total of 18 decks of which 16 are guest decks. The capacity is of 6,680 guests with a total of nearly 2,759 staterooms, including 188 Ultimate Family suites. There are more than 13,347 pieces of artwork on board as well. A first in the Solarium, the Big Wonder spans 2,594 feet with the crew and staff number reaching over 2,200 with a mix of 77 different nationalities.

The concept of onboard neighbourhoods is now taken to new heights with 7 interesting neighbourhoods. One of it, the Central Park, is lined with cafes and shops and filled with more than 20,700 plants and trees. It also has a piped birdsong too. Another one, The Boardwalk, is where you can find a full-size carousel and two rock climbing walls. The other neighbourhoods are the Royal Promenade (which has a main street of the ship, hosts shopping to dining and bar-hopping); Pool and Sports Zone; Resting and Relax – Zen; Entertainment Place; and the Youth Zone.

The ship hosts 22 eateries including Sushi bars, Mexican eateries, Italian restaurants and more. Also featured are Wonderland Imaginative Cuisine, Jamie’s Italian by Jamie Oliver, 150 Central Park with its American seasonal menu and Park Café The new feature is the Bionic Bar which has robotic waiters.

Symphony of the Seas can also be the best family adventure cruise with whirlpools, surf emulators, and waterslides. The Ultimate Abyss sends riders to a 92 feet drop. The ship has two 43 feet tall rock-climbing walls and a zip-line from the ninth deck. The ship has brand new additions too including the glow-in-the-dark laser tag experience and a submarine-themed Puzzle Breakroom. Aside from the adventure activities, the ship also has a grand spa with hot tubs for anyone wanting to take a break and relax in the sea.
