Riva’s Ribelle 66, a glamorous bad-boy sports yacht model is all set to create waves with its low-slung flybridge, and sapphire-blue hull, and exquisite attention to detail. The World Yacht Trophies 2018 at the closing of the Cannes Yachting Festival found Riva getting applause as Riva 66′ Ribelle got awarded with the Best Exterior Design Trophy, category 62 – 80 feet (18,50-24 metres). The 66′ Ribelle (Italian for ‘rebel’) is a definite eye-catcher.
The product was collaborated between Officina Italiana Design, the Strategic Product Committee and Ferretti Group Engineering Department, and built at Riva’s Sarnico shipyard. 66’ Ribelle would benefit from the brand’s distinctive features in a boat and some features are still to be unveiled. Yachters can soon expect a new exclusive Blue Sapphire guise catching their attention. And, the charm is irresistible, and here’s a quick preview on board the yacht whilst a complete sea trial.
The uniqueness of the project is the presence of the flybridge and the large forward relaxation and sunbathing platform making the line both gutsy and light at the same time. The mahogany and steel details add to the beauty of the yacht. And, the aesthetic details like the handrails leading to the bow in total safety and keeping the stainless steel guardrail low to ensure that a streamlined outline of the boat is not compromised is noteworthy.
The two staircases in the stern symmetrically delimit an area that adds to the elegance. And, the tender garage, the astern sun pad, and the bathing platform augment the overall design of the boat. Riva’s tradition is reiterated as one enters the main deck area, where the designers have worked on the interiors brilliantly balancing elegance and colour combinations.
The master cabin of 66′ Ribelle is full-beam and the 5-metres of width has every corner filled with style. The two other cabins add to the sensory experience where the shades of the interiors are beautifully blended with the blue colour of the sky. Apart from which, the area designated for preparing of meals is a design-masterpiece as it reflects surfaces combined with warm white and mahogany tones perfect for the sporty boat. The 66′ Ribelle is light-years ahead in aspects of luxury, beauty and sophistication.
In the context of the technical specifications, Riva 66 Ribelle is powered by twin Man 1,550hp V-12 engines and can reach a top speed of just around 37 knots. A cruising speed of 33 knots makes it run fast on water. All in all, Riva 66′ Ribelle promises an unmatchable yachting experience definitely worth waiting for.
