Uniworld has revealed the launch dates for its new ships and also set out plans for another Super Ship renovation. It is reported that by 2020, more than half of the ships in Uniworld’s fleet would be a Super Ship with the addition of three new vessels in Egypt, Portugal and Vietnam.

The new floating boutique hotels are expected to feature the signature touches and unique themes that the company’s ships are known for. So, yachters can expect more suites, dining venues, and luxurious finishes. Uniworld CEO Ellen Bettridge reiterated that over the last five years the company has successfully moved on its plan to transform the fleet that began in 2017. She also stated that with the launch of the S.S. Joie de Vivre, the debut of the fully renovated S.S. Beatrice in 2018 completely transformed S.S. Bon Voyage.

Bettridge also said that they had been in a consistent and relentless pursuit of excellence. And expansion for expansion’s sake had never been their business model. She added that they boldly committed to the projects that would continuously elevate Uniworld to the leading position within the river cruise industry. Their ships were unique and, like a boutique hotel, reflected the destinations they serve from décor and artwork to food, beverage and programming. She also said that they looked forward to making their high calibre of service and personalisation in these remarkable destinations even better.

Meanwhile, Uniworld’s new ships launching in 2020 are inclusive of:
The S.S. Satet is expected to launch on 6 January 2020 on the Nile, which would be followed by the S.S. São Gabriel on 26 March 2020 on the Douro. Apart from which, the Mekong Jewel will debut on 3 January 2020 on the Mekong.

The River Countess is expected to undergo renovation and to re-emerge as S.S. La Venezia on 27 March 2020, as part of the line’s Super Ship programme, which reportedly kicked off in 2017 with the launch of the S.S. Joie de Vivre. This was followed by the debut of the S.S. Beatrice in 2018, and S.S. Bon Voyage, arriving in April 2019.
