Cruisers will love to go on a sea-bound vacation in 2019 with some innovative and trendy new cruise ships coming out this year. The new ships are equipped with cutting-edge technology and boast modernized designs that will redefine your travel experience. Here are a few new cruise ships that you’d want to take your next holiday on.

MSC Bellissima & MSC Grandiosa

Cruisers can enjoy these technologically proficient ships this New Year with MSC Cruises. The MSC Bellissima (4,434-passenger) will sail in March and the MSC Grandiosa (4,880-passenger) will take its maiden voyage in November.

You will love the MSC Bellissima’s glittering suites with Swarovski crystals and MSC Grandiosa for its immersive fine art experience featuring an Edgar Degas exhibition. MSC Bellissima also features a Mediterranean-style retail-and-dining promenade capped by a 262 foot long LED ceiling and high-tech RFID-chipped wristbands for guests that can let you geo-locate your kids on board. Also, look out for the in-cabin digital personal assistant dubbed “Zoe”, a voice-activated AI device.

Zoe will also feature in MSC Grandiosa. The ship also extends a unique and unforgettable gastronomic experience with 11 restaurants onboard, and you can expect an even longer LED screen-capped promenade and new Cirque du Soleil shows.

Costa Smeralda

Costa Smeralda will enthrall cruisers with its Italian flair and is designed to hold around 5,200 passengers. This new flagship, Costa Smeralda will debut in October with a series of 5 to 7-nights on the Mediterranean waters.

Cruisers can reminisce about strolling through Piazza di Spagna and relive the magic of the squares of Italy’s “Bel Paese” onboard the new ship. The vessel also features 11 restaurants (including a Japanese-inspired Teppanyaki restaurant), a spa, four pools, and a daycare facility for kids onboard. Cruisers should look out for Smeralda’s very own, 4,305 square foot onboard design museum, CoDe – Costa Design Museum dedicated to Italian design and aesthetics. Where Costa Smeralda really innovates is its fuel consumption; the ship is powered by the clean-burning, eco-friendly liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Sky Princess

Next-up, the 3,660-passenger Sky Princess by Princess Cruises will offer a brief run of a 7 to 14-night Mediterranean voyage.

The ship boasts some of the largest private balconies at 700 square feet and also has cool cabanas, Jacuzzis, and a new pool at the aft of the ship. Also, lookout for new technologies like the complimentary Ocean Medallion, a wearable device that enables passengers to benefit from expedited arrival, several services on demand, and some exclusive perks.
