The 34th Annual Newport Charter Yacht Show, which starts Monday, June 22 and runs through Thursday, June 25 is putting on a spectacular show of 25 world-class charter yachts worth a combined value of over $100 million. This is only one of the six such charter industry shows in the world, catering to industry professionals curious in researching the many opportunities available for luxury chartering in New England. With some help from the U.S. Virgin Islands – Department of Tourism, this year’s event is being celebrated with the Caribbean Carnival theme.
To ensure the event is a success, captains and their crews primed their respective yachts over the weekend. They also attended the Happy Hour sponsored by Newport Shipyard, Engineered Marine Coatings, and West Marine Mega Yacht Supply and Captains and Crew Briefing.
On Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, the favourite Yacht Hops will take place, where captains and crews dress in costumes to host themed functions with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
Throughout the week, competitions will test the efficiency of the private chefs and professional crews behind these luxury charter yachts. It will look at their hospitality and culinary skills in a string of contests held throughout the week. Other events include the Pitch-and-Put Golf Competition and the seaHEX Drone Challenge sponsored by seaHEX and Fuerte Amador Resort & Marina.
On Wednesday and Thursday mornings, American Yacht Charter Association and Newport Charter Yacht Show will present two industry focussed seminars to educate yacht charter professionals.
