This might sound strange to ear, but it’s true and real. The Italian boat builders, Palumbo has proved the idea by designing two boats, e.g.130ft Columbus superyacht as well as 120ft long vessel made of aluminium for lighter weight.

The Columbus sport 130ft hybrid sails on hybrid fuel, just like Toyota Pirus, a combination of electricity and diesel. The hybrid fuel helps cut down the environmental pollution by reducing emissions. It features a bilge water separator to put a halt on oily deposits spreading out to sea. With its specific design, the Columbus is titled with ‘the world’s first eco-friendly yacht.’ This superyacht is laded with exquisite designs, three plush cabins and a deck dubbed ‘the beach club’, which is huge enough to accommodate eight people to relax and sunbathe. The boat is expected to launch in 2013 at $30million.

The 120ft long vessel is powered by less energy because of its aluminium exterior and light ‘skeletal structure.’ With this design, the company believes that the boat will pass all regulations of the International Maritime Organisation’s MARPOL convention, which controls emissions on seagoing vessels. This boat has a dual powered electric and diesel engine offering 7.5knots speed when it runs on electricity, if the yacht sails a bit faster, then it is powered by diesel. It boasts huge windows in the main room, which is nicknamed ‘saloon’, a vast flybridge and plush interiors. These thoughts are idealised by Breccia Sarda and Emperador Dark marble. This superyacht features three cabins and the owner’s room, which can accommodate up to eight people.

“The boat is really an innovative concept because it melds together very modern lines and high technology with environmentally friendly features,” Giuseppe Palumbo, general manager of Palumbo Shipyards in Naples, said.

Get ready to voyage around the world, after purchasing these fascinating superyachts.

It’s tough to define luxury if you are talking about celebrities, and their great eminence. With extravagant lifestyle, they know how to keep themselves in limelight. To understand the meaning of lavishness, it’s better if you get a glimpse of the Cannes Film Festival 2012.

Along with fulsome attires, celebrities go all the way to do something unique. Superyacht rental is an old trend in the festival and renting a superyacht is much hyped because of its escalating emergence as a deal market.

The Cannes Film Festival is organised in vibrant atmosphere sprawling on the Mediterranean Sea. It’s fairly impossible to keep a superyacht away from such a dynamic environment close to sea. Due to its ever-increasing demands, a yacht leaves a subculture of its own in the festival celebrations.

Many superyachts are anchored on the Cannes Harbour. About 60 A-list boats can be parked along the jetty Albert Edouard in the shadow of Palais, assuring a luxury parking on the water.

Superyacht rental is available for banks, private financiers and film commissions from around the world. These yachts are rented out on price tags varying from $30,000 to $400,000 a week. This kind of arrangement is ideal for Hollywood agents, who are looking for investors.

It is quite annoying to secure one of the prized berths from the port of the Cannes because you need to fill the 16-page application, but a mistake in the form can cause to return the entire paperwork. Spots are rented out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Its point to note down: “anyone who says they have a berth before it is officially announced will be banned from applying for one year with the exclusion being widely publicised.”

If you get a confirmation for the berth, then you have to pay $ 1,000, which is reasonable for a spot on the French Riviera.

Say it a magic or reality! A boat can be made up of hockey sticks, hairbrushes, police truncheons and tennis rackets.

On 4th of May 2012 a 30 ft. sail boat having more than 20knots speed launched after 14 months of workmanship at Thornham Marina, Prinsted, near Emsworth, to explore the south coast to mark the Olympic Games. The Arts Council England granted a £500,000 for this project.

Sally Abbott, regional director at Arts Council England, said: “It’s not just a beautiful work of art, but a fantastic vessel that is going to sail the seas in the most glamorous way you can imagine.”

The boat has been crafted with 1,200 donated wood pieces. Ernest Monnery, 75, retired cabinet maker of White Dirt Lane, Clanfield, helped build the boat as well donated his scale ruler. With a tiny piece of the Mary Rose and part of Jimi Hendrix’s guitar, it is a unique vessel in itself. Such a wonderful design has been put on place by artist Lone Twin, as well as Olympic sailor and boat-builder Mark Covell and designer Simon Rogers.

This summer only a crew of six will sail the boat. Mike Barham, 42 , an old army officer, presently training to be a teacher will be honoured of being captain. Daniel Lane, 46, an English teacher at South Downs College, will be one in the crew.

The New Zealand firm is right ahead of many companies in order to fight for the global clean energy movement. Such an innovation design is a milestone in the era of yacht where the MS Turanor PlanetSolar has bagged number one position by completing a circumnavigation without using other resources, such as wind and fossil fuels.

The yacht completed the journey of 60, 019 km by travelling 584days around the world, but stopped at last destination, Monaco.

LOMOcean Design director, Andre Moltschaniwskyj said: “We were given a very small amount of power, and we had to make this thing go around the world”

Because of impressive design, the Turanor PlanetSolar is termed as Kiwi maritime as well as an example of technological triumph. It is the brainchild of Swiss engineer Raphael Domjan, who worked in coordination with German businessman Immo Stroher and LOMOcean Design.

To drive the 90 tonne catamaran at 6 knots, it requires just 23 kilowatts. The superyacht was launched in March 2010 at Germany’s Knierim Yachtbau. MS Turanor PlanetSolar is the optimal design for the light carbon vessel and incorporates 537sq. m. of solar panels, lithium ion batteries, high efficiency electric motors and a propulsion system.

Due to the lack of sunshine hours in Auckland, the Turanor PlanetSolar couldn’t visit there on its journey around the world. It traveled till Brisbane only.

Specifications

Name: MS Turanor Planetsolar

Length: 31 metres (35m with flaps)

London is prepared to host the Olympic 2012 as well as busy in organising the Royal Jubilee. Because of ongoing development and a large scale reformation in almost all spheres, the city is voted for the first time the world’s best place to visit. It is also termed as the hottest destination of 2012.

In order to organise itself for the world class European hospitality, Royal Docks 2012 is ready to assemble renowned superyachts from all over the world in less than 3 months. Superyachts will be seen for the first time in London to be a part of the Olympic Games this summer.

According to the TripAdvisor, these accolades have been rewarded after analysing tens of millions of reviews by visitors to 440 destinations around the world. The UK’s capital is putting all efforts to entertain guests. A big initiative has been taken by Royal Docks 2012, which is prepared to offer exclusive berths for enjoying a unique Olympic experience. Such a facility is available by travelling a few minutes from Central London, London City airport and the city’s sporting venues.

Royal is all set to provide a full dedicated bespoke service with its co-partner, MGMTyacht. Whatever you want, whenever you want, Royal Docks’ concierge service is at your response. It is all the time best if you book a birth in advance because it runs out of stock.

Just check out some experts and their views:

Emma Shaw, TripAdvisor’s director, said: “The capital has been very much in the spotlight over the past few years, thanks to the royal wedding, Diamond Jubilee and, of course, the Olympics, and we’re seeing travellers experience London in an increasingly favourable way.”

Mike Luddy, Managing Director of Royal Docks 2012, said: “For the first time in history, superyachts from all over the world will be heading to London this summer. Here at Royal Docks 2012 we’ll be offering the best-positioned berths in London, 24 hour concierge and security services and a VIP lounge and parking for clients and their guests. What better way to experience the London Olympics, officially this summer’s hottest ticket.”

Mark Upton, Director of MGMTyacht, said: “The results of this survey just confirm that London truly is the place to be for superyachts this summer. This really will be a once in a lifetime experience and I urge superyacht owners to act now and make sure they don’t miss out.”

Many might not know that Jobs was designing his own superyacht laded with the latest features and traits.

Steve was constantly working on its luxury superyacht with designer Philippe Starck and yacht builder Feadship. He decided to make his own superyacht as he doesn’t like general yacht designs.

Jobs dreamt of designing a superyacht having sleek and minimalist design with 40 foot glass walls designed by the chief engineer of Apple’s retail stores. Since Steve is no more, therefore, his wife Laurene Powell will look after the project.

In 2009 Steve almost cancelled the project as he was suffering from pancreatic cancer, but he loved to work on its own design. Therefore, he decided to continue the project.

One his last statement, he said: “I know that it’s possible I will die and leave Laurene with a half-built boat. But I have to keep going on it. If I don’t, it’s an admission that I’m about to die.”

As modern technology takes a new swing, the sailing boat still strikes a chord with conventionalists by molding herself purely out of wood. The four masted schooner has already been tagged as one of most amazing yachts of this century even though she has still to take to the seas.

On 23rd September, 2011 Dream Ship Victory signed a contract with Amsterdam based Dykstra & Partners for the naval architecture of the yacht. Ken Freivokh will be styling and designing the 141m loa (462ft) Dream Symphony.

Dream Ship Victory have a long history behind the construction of their large scale wooden yachts, including Mikhail Vorontsov at 65m, Princess Maria at 55m and Imagination at 42m. Furthermore, Gerry Dykstra of Dykstra & Partners who is building the yacht has an incredible body of work ranging from J-class to sailing yachts as small as 30m.

Although, intricate design and construction details about the yacht have been kept under wraps, it is said that the yacht will be built with cold-molded laminated structure resulting in strong monoque structure. As the hull of the yacht will be of wood, a material that is 18 times more flexible than steel, Dream Symphony would have to carefully engineer its stiffness.

A 200m long construction shed is constructed near Marmaris in Turkey for the purpose of the yacht by reclaiming land from the sea and the mountains.

Adastra is a boss on the water displaying its unique design as well as lavish interior which can conquer anyone’s heart. It’s more than a superyacht spreading its fins to rule the oceanic world. Because of opulent appearance and magnificent look, it is compared to a massive spacecraft loaded with modern features.

To compete with its counterparts in comfortableness as well as visual aspect, Adastra is loaded with unique triple hull design to provide optimum speed, fuel efficiency and weight. All efforts have been made to offer the most up-to-date features including luxurious interior, lively dining area, fancy sleeping spaces, comfortable bathroom and relaxing shower. The yacht attributes a master cabin and two guest cabins that can accommodate a total of nine guests. It boasts crew quarters for up to six as well as a plethora of deck space for taking in the sights.

It required around 5 years for putting the concept into reality, where the prime aspect was to construct a superyacht that has a minimum weight, but an eye-catchy design. Therefore, its hardwood cabinetry is made of fine light-weight oak with honeycomb pockets while the hatch and ladders are framed of ultra strong carbon fibre having a fraction of the weight of steel components.

With a top speed of around 22 knots, Adastra is ready to hover on waters with its powerful 1,150 hp Caterpillar engine providing a capacity to travel 4,000 miles in a single trip. If you are looking to buy this superyacht, then you should leave such thoughts out there because Adastra is a unique design on the earth.

On 12th of April 2011, Defense contractor Textron Inc. demonstrated the Common Unmanned Surface Vessel Technology at Textron Marine & Land Systems Shipyard in New Orleans.

The director of the advanced systems group of AAI, Ryan Hazlett said: “The unmanned vessels will keep the dull, dirty and dangerous jobs away from our personnel.”

The boat is 39 ft long painted in Navy gray having a top speed of 28 knots. It can be controlled from 10 to 12 miles away from a command station on land, at sea or in the air. After connecting to a satellite control system, it can be controlled from 1,200 miles.

The CUSV is a unique boat that can be operated up to 72 hours without refueling. However, the operation hours depend on travelling speed and the weight of equipment being carried by the boat. It can be sailed in 5ft of water because of its shallow draft. It is almost impossible to sink the CUSV by accident.

The boat is well-equipped with the latest technology. In case of overturns, it shuts down its engines, as well restarts the engines to continue the mission.

The superyacht Catamaran Hemisphere is up for auction at ‘Christie’s Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth’. The auction not only gives you chance to go on an ideal yacht holiday but to support and become a part of solid ideals as well!

The owners of the super-yacht catamaran Hemisphere are offering a weeklong charter as part of the Christie’s Green Auction. The proceeds for the Hemisphere charter auction will go to Oceana, the world’s largest charitable organization that strives to protect the world’s oceans.

The charter voyage package is estimated to be of $245,000 and takes 10 to 12 people for cruising by Hemisphere in either Croatia or the Caribbean. The Croatian itinerary comprises of eight days and seven nights. The Caribbean package is the same length of time.

This is the second year that a yacht charter is up for auction, thanks to corporate sponsorship of Oceana by Burgess. Burgess has sponsored the auction by Oceana same as it sponsored the auction of charter by Lady Sheridan’s last year.
